Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This page explains what DopaMind collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: February 26, 2026

DopaMind is designed to help you build healthier screen habits. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the app.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from those providers (such as your name and email address).

Check-ins, Breathing Sessions, and App Activity

We collect data about how you use DopaMind, including app-open attempts tracked through DopaMind, emotion check-in responses, breathing session activity, rule changes (Allow / Ask / Block / Limit), and related timestamps. On Android, if you enable app blocking features, we may also read app usage information through Android Usage Access to enforce your limits and blocking rules. We use this information to power progress tracking, history, and personalized insights.

Subscription and Billing Metadata

If you purchase a subscription, payments are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may store subscription status, product identifiers, and verification metadata needed to unlock premium features and manage your access.

Permissions and Device Information

DopaMind may request device permissions to provide features you choose to use. On Android, this may include Usage Access (for usage-based limits and monitoring) and foreground service functionality used for app blocking. On iPhone, if you enable App Blocking, DopaMind may request Screen Time / Family Controls authorization and allow you to choose apps through Apple’s system picker. If you use contact-based actions, we may request access to contacts to help you call or message someone. We also collect basic device/app information (such as app version and operating system version) for diagnostics and compatibility.

How Screen Time Data Is Used on iPhone

On iPhone, DopaMind uses Apple Screen Time / Family Controls APIs only for the app-blocking features you enable. DopaMind uses your authorization status and the apps/categories you select in Apple’s picker to configure blocking behavior. Screen Time selections used for setup and enforcement may be stored locally on your device (including shared app-group storage for iOS components). DopaMind does not use Screen Time access to read your messages, photos, or unrelated personal content.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Storage

Local Storage

DopaMind stores some data locally on your device (for example, cached settings, check-in data, app-open tracking, and some app-blocking setup state such as iPhone Screen Time selection metadata) so the app can work smoothly and support offline use.

Cloud Storage (Firebase)

When you sign in, DopaMind stores account-related data and app data in Firebase services (such as Firestore and Cloud Functions) to support sync, subscription access, and history features. Data sent between your device and our backend services is encrypted in transit.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate DopaMind. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect safety, rights, and security.

5. Third-Party Services

DopaMind relies on third-party services such as Firebase, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, and app store billing services. These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We share only the information reasonably needed for the requested feature to work.

6. Children's Privacy

DopaMind is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Parental Consent and COPPA

If we learn that a child under 13 in the United States has provided personal information without verifiable parental consent, we will delete the information as required by applicable law, including the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to DopaMind, contact us and we will investigate and take appropriate action.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have legal rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or export certain data.

You can delete your account from the app Settings page, or contact us using the email below for privacy requests.

8. Data Retention

We keep data for as long as needed to provide DopaMind and comply with legal obligations. Local data remains on your device until it is deleted by you or removed by uninstalling the app. When you delete your account in the app, we delete account-linked data in our Firebase project, subject to technical and legal limitations. App store billing records are maintained by the applicable store provider under their own policies.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you in the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when this policy was last revised.
